Dogs — core vaccines
- DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, parvo) — every 1–3 years after puppy series.
- Rabies — required annually by Dubai Municipality for registration renewal.
- Bordetella ("kennel cough") — required by all reputable boarders.
- Leptospirosis — optional but recommended if your dog swims in fresh water.
Cats — core vaccines
- FVRCP (herpes, calici, panleukopenia) — every 1–3 years.
- Rabies — required annually.
- FeLV — recommended for outdoor or multi-cat households.
Common UAE-specific add-ons
Heartworm prevention isn't critical here (low mosquito-borne risk relative to humid climates), but tick and flea prevention is essential year-round — the dry heat doesn't reduce parasite load the way owners expect.
