Weather and seasons in Bangkok
Bangkok is hot all year. The hot season from March to May is the most intense, the rainy season from May to October brings heavy storms and street flooding, and the cooler, drier months run from November to February.
Planning around the seasons
In the hot season, walk only at dawn or after dark, keep walks short and carry water; asphalt gets dangerously hot.
In the rainy season, avoid flooded streets, dry your dog well and check for skin problems and ticks.
Homes, buildings and access
Many condos do not allow pets or limit them to certain buildings or floors, while village houses often have yards. Tell your provider about juristic office rules, key cards and security.
Local rules worth knowing
Bangkok requires dogs to be registered and microchipped, and dogs should be vaccinated against rabies. Keep dogs on a lead in public and pick up after them.
Getting around Bangkok with a pet
Pets are not allowed on the BTS or MRT (service animals excepted), and taxis may refuse animals. A pet taxi is the simplest way to the vet, a groomer or the airport.
Pet care in Bangkok — FAQ
Does OnlyPaw work in Bangkok?
Yes. OnlyPaw is available worldwide, including Bangkok. Because it's a marketplace, the providers you can book depend on who has been approved near your address — the app shows who's available before you pay.
How much does pet care cost in Bangkok?
Providers in Bangkok set their own prices, so you see each provider's rate in the app before you book. At checkout OnlyPaw adds a service fee of 10% of the service price, with a minimum of USD 2 and a maximum of USD 20 (or the equivalent in your local currency), shown before you pay. Your payment is held and only released to the provider after the service is completed.
Are dogs allowed in Bangkok’s public parks?
Many city-run parks, including Lumphini, do not allow dogs. Most dog walks happen on quiet sois, in condo or village grounds and at private dog parks.
Can I take my dog on the BTS or MRT?
No — pets are not allowed on the BTS or MRT, service animals excepted. Book a pet taxi in the OnlyPaw app instead.
How are providers vetted?
Every provider submits a government ID and a selfie, passes a knowledge test with a 70% pass mark and uploads service-specific documents — home photos for sitting and boarding, driving licence and vehicle registration for pet taxi, certificates for grooming and training — before the OnlyPaw team approves them.
What happens in an emergency?
Every active booking has an SOS button in the app. It alerts the other party and the OnlyPaw team straight away. If your pet needs urgent medical care, contact a vet or emergency clinic first.
