Pet Grooming in Muscat: what to know
Muscat is a long, narrow city between the mountains and the sea, stretching from Al Qurum and Madinat Sultan Qaboos to Al Mouj, Al Hail and Seeb. Villas and low-rise apartments are common, and many residents drive between districts every day.
Humidity near the coast and summer heat mean regular brushing, baths and ear care help keep skin healthy in Muscat.
Heat and weather in Muscat
Muscat's summers are hot and humid, with daytime highs often above 40°C, while winters are warm and pleasant. Rocky ground and asphalt hold heat long after sunset, so check the surface before a walk.
In hot months, book grooming for the cooler part of the day, and ask for a coat length that protects against sun rather than a shave-down for double-coated breeds.
Planning around the seasons in Muscat
A good rhythm is a bath and de-shed before the hot months (May to September), a regular routine through the summer, and a bigger groom saved for the cooler months (November to March).

How much does pet grooming cost in Muscat?
Groomers in Muscat set their own prices in OMR, so you see each provider's rate before you book. At checkout OnlyPaw adds a service fee of 10% of the service price, with a minimum of USD 2 and a maximum of USD 20 (or the equivalent in your local currency), shown before you pay. Your payment is held and only released to the provider after the service is completed.
How are groomers in Muscat vetted?
Every groomer in Muscat must submit a government ID, a selfie and a grooming certificate, and pass a pet-safety knowledge test with a 70% pass mark. The OnlyPaw team reviews each application — and each additional service — before it goes live.
Should I shave my dog for the Muscat heat?
Usually not for double-coated breeds such as huskies, golden retrievers or German shepherds — their coat insulates against heat and sunburn. Regular de-shedding and brushing keep them cooler. Single-coated breeds can have shorter trims; ask your groomer in the chat.
What if I need to cancel?
Each provider uses one of three cancellation policies. Under the default moderate policy you get a full refund if you cancel at least 24 hours before the start, 50% if you cancel at least 2 hours before, and nothing in the last 2 hours. The flexible policy refunds in full up to 2 hours before the start; the strict policy refunds in full from 48 hours and 50% from 24 hours before.
What happens in an emergency?
Every active booking has an SOS button in the app. It alerts the other party and the OnlyPaw team straight away. If your pet needs urgent medical care, contact a vet or emergency clinic first.
