Local rules to check in the United Arab Emirates
OnlyPaw verifies your identity, service documents and knowledge test. Separately, paid pet care in the United Arab Emirates may involve local registrations or permits such as:
- UAE Emirates ID + valid residence visa
- Trade Licence (Freelancer permit via GoFreelance or DED)
- Pet handling / boarding permit from Dubai Municipality Veterinary Services
- Criminal clearance certificate (COC) from Dubai Police
- Vehicle registration (if offering pet taxi) with pet-transport insurance
You need a freelance permit (from DED, DMCC, or one of the free zones) to legally offer paid services in the UAE. Home boarding requires a Dubai Municipality Veterinary Services permit; pet taxi requires RTA-approved vehicle modifications. VAT registration is mandatory once turnover exceeds AED 375,000.
These are general pointers, not legal advice — rules change, so confirm them with the relevant authorities before you start.
