Local rules to check in Malaysia
OnlyPaw verifies your identity, service documents and knowledge test. Separately, paid pet care in Malaysia may involve local registrations or permits such as:
- MyKad (IC) or valid work/dependent pass
- SSM registration (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia — sole prop)
- DBKL / MPS / MBPJ pet business permit for commercial boarding
- Certificate of Good Conduct (Polis DiRaja Malaysia)
- LHDN e-Filing for personal income tax
Register a sole proprietorship with SSM (from RM30/year) to run legally. Home boarding above 3 pets typically requires a local council pet business licence. Income tax filing via LHDN e-Filing — thresholds apply to Muslim/non-Muslim providers via Zakat and SST considerations.
These are general pointers, not legal advice — rules change, so confirm them with the relevant authorities before you start.
