Local rules to check in the Philippines
OnlyPaw verifies your identity, service documents and knowledge test. Separately, paid pet care in the Philippines may involve local registrations or permits such as:
- Valid government ID (PhilID, UMID, Driver's Licence, Passport)
- NBI Clearance
- Barangay clearance + Mayor's Permit (for regular self-employment)
- BIR TIN (Bureau of Internal Revenue Registration — 8% flat tax option)
- For boarding: DA Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) registration + local ordinance compliance
Register as self-employed with BIR — 8% flat tax on gross above ₱250K threshold is popular. Barangay + Mayor's Permit typically ₱1,000-3,000 annually. Home boarding above 3 pets requires BAI registration under DA Administrative Order.
These are general pointers, not legal advice — rules change, so confirm them with the relevant authorities before you start.
