Local rules to check in Singapore
OnlyPaw verifies your identity, service documents and knowledge test. Separately, paid pet care in Singapore may involve local registrations or permits such as:
- Singapore NRIC or valid Employment/PR pass
- AVS (Animal & Veterinary Service) Pet Boarder Licence — required for home boarding
- MyInfo verification for identity
- HDB approval if operating from an HDB flat (limited to a few approved breeds)
- Self-employed registration with IRAS (BizFile for higher volumes)
AVS licenses pet boarders under the Animals and Birds Act — mandatory for anyone boarding more than 3 dogs concurrently. HDB flats have strict pet rules (only approved small breeds allowed). Self-employed income above S$6,000 must be filed with IRAS via Notice of Assessment.
These are general pointers, not legal advice — rules change, so confirm them with the relevant authorities before you start.
