Dog Walking in Beirut: what to know
Beirut walkers plan around heat, traffic and stairs: the corniche early, quieter streets later. Mention how your dog copes with scooters, street cats and crowds.
Where to walk dogs in Beirut
- The Corniche — The seafront promenade — best early in the morning before it gets busy and hot.
- Neighbourhood streets and stairways — Quieter streets in Achrafieh and Badaro for daily walks.
- Mountains outside the city — Pine forests and trails in the nearby mountains make cooler weekend walks in summer.
Weather and seasons in Beirut
Beirut has hot, humid summers often above 30°C and mild, rainy winters. Humidity makes summer walks harder on dogs than the temperature alone suggests.
Planning around the seasons
In summer, walk at dawn or after sunset, keep walks short and carry water; the sea breeze on the corniche helps in the early morning.
In the rainy months, dry your dog well and check for ear and skin problems caused by damp.
Before you book
Walkers can offer extras such as photo updates, a report card, pick-up from home or an extra 30 minutes — you see what each walker offers before booking.
Keep your pet's vaccinations and any local registration up to date and carry the records — providers may ask to see them before the first booking.
