Pet Taxi in San Francisco: what to know
A pet taxi saves carrying a dog up and down hills or on transit; set pickup and drop-off on the map and follow the ride by GPS.
Getting around San Francisco with a pet
BART and Muni have their own pet rules, with small pets in carriers generally allowed and limits for larger dogs. Hills and limited parking make a pet taxi handy for vet visits, the groomer or SFO.
Local rules worth knowing
San Francisco requires dogs to be licensed, and dogs must be on a lead in public except in designated off-lead dog play areas. Federal parkland such as Fort Funston and Crissy Field has its own rules — follow the signs.
Before you book
Set exact pickup and drop-off points on the map, mention your pet's size and whether you have a carrier, and say if someone will ride along.
Keep your pet's vaccinations and any local registration up to date and carry the records — providers may ask to see them before the first booking.
